Heads Up: Class Offering

Arlington Adult Education will be offering the following course on March 3rd:

Using A Special Needs Trust to Protect Your Loved One with a Disability

Nearly 10% of our population copes with special needs that exist because of a disability such as Autism, Down syndrome, traumatic brain injury and a variety of mental illnesses. Planning to protect loved ones from conservatorship, probate, and avoid loss of government benefits will be presented in this practical, easy to understand course.

November Meeting

We are on a serious fund-raising campaign this year!  We'll be contacting local churches for donations.

On a brighter note, we'll be hosting our Annual Holiday Party on Friday, December 10th at 6 PM.


Our theme is "A Winter Wonderland".

Welcome to the new Friends of Clarendon House Blog.

Mission Statement

The Friends of Clarendon House Inc. (FOCH) is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to promoting the goals of Clarendon House, a psychosocial rehabilitation program that offers vocational, social, educational and case management opportunities to adults in Arlington, Virginia, who are experiencing a mental illness.  The members of Friends of Clarendon House, Inc., a group of concerned citizens, take a special interest in Clarendon House and its members.  FOCH seek to:

  • provide information and support to the citizens of Arlington County regarding metal illness;
  • function as an advisory board for the continued development of Clarendon House;
  • raise funds to support the Clarendon House program;
  • assist with public relations; advocate for improved community mental health services; and
  • develop business contacts for vocational opportunities for Clarendon House members.
